Youth Never Dies
Youth keeps a
grown heart pumping strong with energy
Little toes the size of tick-tacks
The aroma of powder and formula
Everyone can’t help but to smile and coddle the tiny new creation
Rolling around becoming aware of the world
The toddler’s laugh pure and genuine
Waddling then walking, walking then talking
Everyone can’t help but to smile and coddle the new creation
Growing like an out of control weed, until it meets its peek
Childhood is gone but its all around us, coursing through our veins
Youth keeps a grown heart pumping strong with energy
Little toes the size of tick-tacks
The aroma of powder and formula
Everyone can’t help but to smile and coddle the tiny new creation
Rolling around becoming aware of the world
The toddler’s laugh pure and genuine
Waddling then walking, walking then talking
Everyone can’t help but to smile and coddle the new creation
Growing like an out of control weed, until it meets its peek
Childhood is gone but its all around us, coursing through our veins
Youth keeps a grown heart pumping strong with energy
Amanda’s Magical Imagination
Once upon a time there was a young fairy named Amanda with the most marvelous imagination. She would flutter in and out trees imagining she was a cowgirl bouncing on a horse, a shark laughing with all the little fish, and even a leprechaun sliding down rainbows. All the other fairies were jealous that Amanda could mentally get away from the wicked old goblin, Tyme, but they knew her enthusiasm was the only life left in the forest.
Tyme turned the fairies vibrant, innocent, and fun forest into a stressful, gloomy place. The fairies went day in and day out going through their motions like robots. On the other hand, Amanda would dance and sing all around the other fairies. Tyme loathed Amanda’s joyful, free nature. He was determined to take away Amanda’s happiness.
After looking into his magical ball, Tyme let out a high pitched laugh. He discovered Amanda’s happiness stemmed from her amazing imagination. One day, while Amanda was completely engaged in her own world, Tyme hobbled over to Amanda and placed his magical ball in her hand. The goblin chanted a few words and the ball circled around Amanda. A sparkly vapor like a rainbow was sucked out of Amanda’s wings and into the ball. Her world was now dark and dreary.
Tyme had complete control of the whole forest and all the fairies. Amanda’s days were now dim and repetitive. She cried every day and yearned for her imagination back. The other fairies noticed how sad Amanda was and how awful the forest had become.
They all got in a circle, touched wings, and hoped that things would get better. The magic from their wings made a lively, bubbly Elf named Dakota appear. She stood in the middle of the circle and listened to all the thoughts of hope that came from the tiny fairies. She explained that she had come to take away all the sorrow. Dakota’s job was to keep the fairies happy, so that their wings could produce fairy dust to keep the forest energetic and alive. The elf waved her arms as she casted a spell to turn Tyme’s ball into ashes. Sitting in his hollowed out tree, Tyme watched his ball disintegrate. He waddled out into the forest to find the fairies in a circle and Dakota standing in the middle with a big smile on her face.
The forest came back to life as if a blanket of color and vibrancy was being pulled over it. Amanda then wiped her tears as she felt a tingle in her wings. Her mind suddenly felt free again. As her vision cleared up from the tears, she saw the forest was full of life again. Amanda then imagined herself as a mermaid and she knew everything was back to normal. She hugged Dakota and thanked her for bringing her imagination back. All the fairies in the forest danced around and sang for hours with Dakota and Amanda.
