For my writing, research, and technology class, I had to create a twitterive. A twitterive involved a few steps. First, I had to create a twitter and tweet as much as I could (easier said than done). Then, I had to look at my tweets and decide how they corresponded with my place. This was fairly easy for me, because many of my tweets involved my niece or childhood. It was very clear to me that my place was being with Dakota to relive my childhood. In my twitterive I wanted the viewers to feel how I feel when I am with Dakota. All of my genres are conveying a child like, fun vibe. Another feeling I tried to get across was that the closer I get to seeing my niece the closer I am to my childhood. Throughout my twitterive I have two images that are next to each other. The pictures on the left are things that I am doing in the moment. As the images on the left get closer to me seeing my niece, the pictures on the right become more clear. The pictures on the right are images from my childhood. In between the picture are different genres of writing that in some way are related to my place.
The Back Story:
My niece, Dakota brings out the child in me, that is why she is my place. I had such a wonderful childhood. It was so carefree, innocent, and exciting. When I turned sixteen I began dreading my birthdays because I knew my childhood was slipping away. Although, I prepared for the day I would turn eighteen and not be a child anymore, it was still hard. I know most eighteen year olds would be so happy to grow up and leave the nest, but I wasn't. Lucky for me, my youth was re-sparked with the birth of my niece, Dakota. A month after my devastating eighteenth birthday my brothers girlfriend called me to tell me she was pregnant. My niece was not planned, to say the least. My family was worried and disappointed with the news. I, on the other hand, could not wait for the baby to be born. I remember impatiently waiting 19 hours in the maternity waiting room to hold the little bundle of joy. Once I got a hold of my little princess, I fell in love. I've been attached to her ever since. When I am with Dakota her strong, fun personalty rubs off on me and it is impossible for me to be anything but happy. Because she makes me so happy I found myself tweeting about her a lot. Hopefully my twitterive makes you smile and gives you a little taste of what it is like to be in Dakota's presences .
